Consultation 021 is still open

Whether it’s a phone appointment or a video consult, since the start of the pandemic more healthcare professionals than ever are using virtual tools to provide patient care.

As a result, CPSA is currently consulting on proposed changes to three standards of practice related to virtual care: Telemedicine, Continuity of Care and Episodic Care. Proposed amendments to these standards include:

  • Proposing to rename the Telemedicine standard “Virtual Care” to reflect current language.
  • Defining cross-border virtual care requirements.
  • Clarifying requirements for after-hours care and patient follow-up.

All feedback will help us improve the amended standards before they go to CPSA Council for approval in December. To find out more about the proposed changes and to share your thoughts, please visit our website.
