CPSA Council appoints 2024 Executive Committee

Made up of regulated members and public members who are passionate about medical regulation and health care, CPSA Council is responsible for setting CPSA’s direction and policies. Council has several standing committees for serving Council members to take part in, one of which is the CPSA Executive Committee.

The Executive Committee sets the important business items for Council Meetings, is responsible for Council effectiveness, continuous improvement and promotes Council learning.

CPSA Council has appointed the following Council members to serve on the Executive Committee for one-year terms beginning on Jan. 1, 2024:

  • Jaelene Mannerfeldt, Council Chair
  • Patrick Etokudo, Council Vice Chair
  • Daisy Fung, Executive Committee Member-at-Large

These Council members have demonstrated their dedication for medical regulation through involvement on multiple other committees during their terms on CPSA Council and through the work they do within their professions and communities

Dr. Jaelene Mannerfeldt has been on CPSA Council since 2019 and practises as an obstetrician-gynecologist and pediatric-gynecologist in Calgary and surrounding areas. She is a strong advocate for women in medicine, fierce patient advocate, mentor for students and faculty, and a lifelong learner.
Patrick Etokudo is a Mechanical Engineer with a master’s degree in supply chain management and a CPSA Councillor since 2021. He serves as Director on the board of Supply Chain Canada (Alberta) and the Calgary Catholic Immigration Society, and sits on the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology program committee.
A CPSA Councillor since 2020, Dr. Daisy Fung is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Family Medicine and practises family medicine in various settings throughout Edmonton.
