For many years, the Tracked Prescription Program (TPP) Alberta has produced annual atlases capturing up-to-date data on opioid, benzodiazepine/Z drug, and antibiotic prescribing in Alberta. By sharing key information and statistics, the atlases are intended to optimize patient care and benefit public health by encouraging safe, informed prescribing.

To ensure this information is readily accessible and valuable to health professionals, other regulatory colleges, educators, and policy makers (among others), TPP Alberta has created an interactive atlas with data on all three monitoring categories: opioids, benzodiazepines/Z drugs, and antibiotics.

Highlights of the information you’ll find in the interactive TPP Alberta Atlas include:

  • Five years of summarized provincial prescribing data.
  • Prescribing rates and trends in Alberta by geographic region.
  • Patient, prescriber, and ingredient summaries.
  • Details on data sources and analysis methods used to develop the atlas.

The new TPP Alberta Atlas also offers the added benefit of the ability to extract summary data for tailored analyses.

We hope you find the interactive atlas informative, relevant and valuable. If you have any feedback, or questions about how to use the atlas data to inform your prescribing, please email TPP.Info@cpsa.ab.ca.
