COVID-19 guidance for community medical clinics

COVID-19, Infection Prevention and Control, Physician Assistants, Physicians | Posted December 24, 2021

Preventing the spread of infection remains a priority for all medical settings. Alberta physicians and clinics continue to be required to follow CPSA’s IPAC General Standards. CPSA has also developed COVID-19 guidance for community medical clinics to supplement the general standards, outlining additional practices intended to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission.

We have recently made a few minor changes to this guidance, which includes minimum recommendations on personal protective equipment for physicians and healthcare teams. Please keep in mind you can increase the level of protection for you, your staff and your patients.
