The 2023 annual renewal for physicians and physician assistants officially started Nov. 1. Make sure to log into the CPSA Portal before Dec. 31 to complete your Renewal Information Form (RIF). Completing your RIF fully, thoughtfully and on time is necessary to maintain your practice permit and ensure your patients continue to receive safe, high-quality care.

Some changes to your RIF this year:

  1. 2023 annual fees: Physicians will pay $2,200 to maintain registration with CPSA. This is a $50 increase from the effective $2,150 annual fee in 2022. Physician assistants will pay $550 to maintain registration with CPSA. Learn more about 2023 annual renewal fees
  2. New non-clinical register: Physicians and physician assistants who have active practice permits but are not engaged in any clinical work for at least six consecutive months starting Jan. 1, 2023, may qualify for CPSA’s new non-clinical register. Learn more about the non-clinical register
  3. Auto-populated contact information: Your contact information is auto-populated in your RIF this year. Please ensure your information is up to date.
  4. Physician Practice Improvement Program (PIPP) activity: If you completed a practice improvement activity in the last 12 months, remember to report it on your annual renewal. Learn more about reporting your PPIP activity

For Professional Corporations (PC) with multiple shareholders, the renewal notice will be sent to the primary physician shareholder only. Once completed, the PC permit and receipt will be available for all shareholders via the CPSA portal.
