Are Hearing Tribunal decisions made on the same day as the hearing?
Posted June 4, 2020
Not officially. If the regulated member admits to unprofessional conduct and the parties present a joint submission on sanction, the Hearing Tribunal may verbally accept the submission during the hearing and then issue their written decision at a later date.
When the parties do not agree, the Tribunal will typically reserve their decision and issue their order in writing on a later date. Determining the appropriate sanction can also take place at an additional hearing on another day.
