It is a violation of a healthcare provider’s ethical code to force him/her to be involved in any way in providing access to services which cause active harm to the patient. We as a province must maintain support for our mentally or physically handicapped individuals. We must never imply that they would be better off dead. We must not expect their primary caregiver to imply that their patient would be better off dead. An unborn child by extension is also a patient of their parent’s doctor. It is our duty to protect and nourish life.
