Sleep medicine diagnostic facilities

Posted April 4, 2025

Sleep medicine diagnostic facilities can do overnight sleep studies in a sleep lab or hospital that can look at the brain activity, heart rate, eye movement, limb movement and blood oxygen level to see how they can help with a patient’s quality of sleep and diagnosis of possible sleep disorders.

Some facilities also provide Home Sleep Apnea Testing (HSAT) to test for obstructive sleep apnea in patients where, based on a pre-test assessment, there is a high probability that the condition may exist. These tests typically look at heart rate, respiratory air flow, and blood oxygen levels.
