Does every medical clinic examination room require a hand hygiene sink?

Every examination room must have access to a hand hygiene station. A hand hygiene station may include:

• A dedicated sink with warm running water, liquid soap and paper towels, or
• Alcohol-based hand rub (ABHR).

A dedicated hand hygiene sink is required in examination rooms where procedures are performed.
