Can a provider switch a minor from one type of hormone treatment for gender-affirming care to another?

Only in limited cases. Switching between types of hormone treatment (for example, from puberty blockers to hormone therapy) is only allowed if:

• the minor is 16 or 17 years old, and
• all required approvals are in place.
