Transferring from within Canada
To practise medicine in Alberta, you must hold a valid Alberta medical practice permit.
If you are already licensed in another Canadian province or territory, several agreements and legislation may make the transfer process easier.

				Relevant agreements & legislation
Physicians may be eligible to transfer under:
- Labour Mobility Act
- Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA)
- New West Partnership Trade Agreement (NWPTA)
These agreements support recognition of licences across Canadian jurisdictions.
