I do not agree with these changes. Mental illness should NOT be added to the list of approved MAID acceptances. Life is precious and valuable and should not be thrown away because someone is mentally not well. When people go through tough times in their lives, they don’t need people helping them give up, they need people helping them get better. Often times people become stronger and able to cope better and help others going through similar things if they have someone helping them through those times, and they do not give up. Neither do I believe or would ever want my doctor or any of my friends who are doctors to be forced to carry this out or prescribe this for another human being. I wholeheartedly do not agree that doctors should be forced to carry this out if they also morally do not agree with it.
