Alert: Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic on TPP Alberta Prescription Pad Deliveries
The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the process and timelines for TPP prescription pad delivery.

Revised Delivery Process:
Purolator has stopped requiring signatures upon delivery. In lieu of this, before leaving a pad order, Purolator will contact the recipient by phone for verbal confirmation to leave the order at the delivery site (e.g., in the physician’s business or home mailbox).

It is imperative that:
  1. Accurate contact information, including phone numbers, is provided for deliveries;
  2. TPP pads are promptly retrieved upon delivery to prevent risk of TPP pad thefts.
Delivery Delays:
All carriers are currently experiencing delivery delays. Purolator has indicated the following possible delays for destinations within Alberta:
  • North of Edmonton, up to a two-day delay.
  • Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Red Deer and areas south of Calgary, up to a one-week delay.
  • Edmonton and Calgary do not have shipping delays at this time.
This is an evolving situation, so delivery schedules and delays may change. Please place your TPP pad orders for reasonable quantities well in advance.

As a reminder, Health Canada implemented temporary exemptions to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, including verbal prescription orders for controlled drugs, to be used as necessary.
